AALSA/SALSA/LaLSA Honor Three at Annual Alumni Banquet

The Asian American Law Students Association (AALSA), the South Asian Law Students Association (SALSA) and the Latino Law Students Association (LaLSA) presented awards to the Hon. Jaya K. Madhavan, New York City Civil Court, Housing Court Judge, Bronx County; Fernando A. Bohorquez, Jr. ’99, associate with Baker & Hostetler, LLP; and Jane Hyun, principal of Crossoads Associates, Inc. and author of Breaking the Bamboo Ceiling, at their annual alumni banquet held on April 8th at Peking Park (100 Park Avenue at 40th Street).

The theme of the evening was Building for the Future: Reflections on Diversity, Empowerment, and Collaboration.  In addition to the dinner and awards presentation, the evening included performances by two Columbia University ensembles -- the Ribbon Dance Group (for SALSA) and the Taal Dance Troupe (for SALSA)  -- and Nelly, Jolemy and Kelly (for LaLSA).

The Asian American Law Students Association was formed to enable law students to take unified action on issues of concern to the Asian American community.
