Hon. John J. Brunetti '74 Publishes Second Edition of New York Confessions

Hon. John J. Brunetti,’74, is the author of newly published second edition of New York Confessions 2005 Edition (LexisNexis Matthew Bender). A 1970 graduate of Franklin and Marshall College, Judge Brunetti also earned an LL.M. from Southern Methodist University in 1975. Judge Brunetti has served as Judge of the Court of Claims and Acting Justice of the Supreme Court, Criminal Term in Onodaga County, New York since 1995.

In the preface to New York Confessions Judge Brunetti says that the inspiration for his book was Barry Kamin’s “New York Search and Seizure. In a recent telephone interview, Judge Brunetti noted that his major challenge as an author was “the enormity of the subject matter and devising a way to break it up and organize the chapters.”

Judge Brunetti has fond memories of his four years at New York Law School (one as a day student and three as an evening student). “After my first year, I clerked at Fuchsberg Fuchsberg and then worked for Legal Aid while I was going to school. It was a great combination of work experience and study," he said. "New York Law School really prepared me very well for my career.”
